Is there a free plan for freelancers?
Yes! Our Personal plan is free forever and includes time tracking, basic invoicing (up to 5 per month), and 3 active clients. It's perfect for freelancers just starting out or testing Payly. No credit card required.
How much does payment processing cost?
Stripe charges 1.75% + $0.30 AUD per successful card transaction for Australian cards, and 2.9% + $0.30 AUD for international cards. Payly doesn't add any additional fees on top of Stripe's processing fees. You keep 100% of your money after payment processing fees.
Can I track time on my mobile phone?
Yes! Payly has a native iOS mobile app that lets you track time, view timesheets, create invoices, and manage your work on the go. The mobile app syncs in real-time with the web platform. An Android app is coming soon.
How does automatic invoicing from time entries work?
Simply select the time entries you want to bill, choose your client and hourly rate, and Payly generates a professional invoice automatically. You can review and customise the invoice before sending. All your time entry descriptions become invoice line items automatically.
Are e-signatures included in the freelancer plan?
Yes! Unlimited e-signatures are included in all paid plans starting from the Professional plan ($49/month). You can send contracts, proposals, and agreements for digital signature. All signatures are legally binding under Australian electronic transaction laws.
Can I send unlimited invoices?
Yes on all paid plans ($49/month and above). The free Personal plan allows up to 5 invoices per month, which is enough for most freelancers just getting started.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
You can export everything anytime - time entries, invoices, client data, and documents. Your data remains accessible for 90 days after cancellation, giving you plenty of time to download everything. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted for security.
Is my client data secure with Payly?
Absolutely. Bank-level 256-bit SSL encryption protects all data transmission and storage. We perform daily encrypted backups, use Australian data centres, and comply with Australian privacy standards. Your client information, financial data, and documents are completely secure.
Can I track expenses for tax purposes?
Yes! Payly includes expense tracking with mobile receipt scanning (coming soon). Track billable and non-billable expenses, categorise them for tax purposes, and generate reports for your accountant. Export everything to CSV or PDF at tax time.
